Jittering Anklet (5e Equipment)
Wondrous item, legendary (major) (requires attunement) This short metal band, pitch black in coloration, vibrates intensely when looked at directly. Any creature wearing the anklet can feel it throb whenever their heart beats, if they have a heart. You are always aware of the presence every creature within 120 feet of you that has the intent of finding you, including the creatures' names if you knew them beforehand but not their distance or direction. If one such creature is capable of having line of sight on you but you do not already see it, you know this as well. If one such creature sees you, you can use your reaction to take the Dash action. Almost There. The anklet has 5 charges, and regains 1d4+1 charges daily at dawn. When you fail a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check, you can expend 1 charge to have vibrations course through your body and give your muscles a slight boost, gaining a +3 bonus to the roll and possibly making the ability check a success. You can use this property no more than once per roll. Calculated Risk. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack while hidden, you can choose to have the attack attract no attention from other creatures nearby. If the creature survives the attack, you still are not revealed to the creature, but it is still aware that it was harmed and will likely figure out where the attack came from. Once you use this property, the anklet cannot be used in this way again until dawn the next day. Jittered Lock. As an action, you touch a sealed container and vibrate intensely. Every mundane lock and magical effect sealing the object is bypassed and the container opens. Complex locks, such as puzzle locks, are destroyed in the process, and the spells are dispelled. Simple locks, such as key locks and combination locks, are unharmed. Once you use this property, the anklet cannot be used in this way again until dawn the next day. Tremor Search. As an action, you learn the exact sizes and locations of every creature within 120 feet of you, provided they are in contact with the same surface you are. Once you use this property, the anklet cannot be used in this way again until dawn the next day. |
