Jenevee's Bag of Dirt (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, Rare Created as a toy by the half-demon child Jenevee Alendal, the bag of dirt is just that, a bag of dirt; however, the dirt inside is enchanted with random spell properties. When the synch of the bag is loosened and it is thrown, a random spell is cast centered on the landing zone of the bag, destroying the bag in the process. When a character throws Jenevee's Bag of Dirt, they must roll 1d6 to trigger one of six spells. All of the spells have a save DC of 14. Fireball If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 1 on the D6, fireball is cast as a 6th level spell, centered on the bag of dirt Shatter If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 2 on the D6, shatter is cast as a 6th level spell, centered on the bag of dirt Thunderwave If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 3 on the D6, thunderwave is cast as a 6th level spell, centered on the bag of dirt Black Tentacles If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 4 on the D6, black tentacles is cast as a 6th level spell, centered on the bag of dirt Tasha's Hideous Laughter If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 5 on the D6, a modified version of hideous laughter is cast as a 6th level spell. This version of Hideous Laughter casts the spell on anyone within 20-foot cube centered on the bag of dirt Freezing Sphere If the bag of dirt is thrown and the thrower rolls a 6 on the D6, freezing sphere is cast as a 6th level spell, centered on the bag of dirt Jenevee's Bag of Dirt can be found in most dungeons as a rare treasure, or it can be found in a spellcaster's lair or home. A player can create Jenevee's Bag of Dirt by combining a small crystal sphere, a feather, a giant octopus tentacle, a chip of mica, and a tiny ball of sulphur in a mortar and pestle, then crush the components into a fine dust, putting them into a leather bag, and casting the animate objects spell |
