Ioncharge plate is a full suit of powered armor that crackles with glowing indigo ion fields. It holds one energy cell that gives it 9 charges. While it has charges, it's effective weight is 25 lbs. and you are resistant to lightning damage.
When you take damage of a type other than lightning, the ioncharge plate expends one charge. In addition, if you are hit by a melee attack you can use your reaction to expend an additional charge to deal 2d4 lightning damage to the attacker.
When all charges are expended, the armor's AC drops to 19 and you feel the full weight of the armor. You can use your action to insert a new energy cell.
