Incendiary Bullets (10) (5e Equipment)

Incendiary bullets are bullets which contain a flammable compound, such as phosphorous or hydrogen gas. Upon impact, the compound ignites with a flash of heat that can ignite fires.

Any modern firearm which uses bullets for its ammunition can fire incendiary bullets. Half the damage of firearm attacks made with incendiary bullets (rounded down) is converted to fire damage, while the remaining half of the damage is still piercing damage. A flammable object hit by an incendiary bullet ignites if it isn't being worn or carried. Incendiary bullets are useful for destroying electronics, fuel, and ammunition.

Incendiary bullets that are also semi-armor piercing, armor piercing or armor piercing discarding sabot exist, gaining the benefits of both types of ammunition. While it's a more expensive optional combination, and therefore not universal, it's quite common because incendiary bullets are more effective if they can penetrate a surface layer of armor.
