Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot Rounds (10) (5e Equipment)

Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot rounds, or APDS for short, consist of a high-density, armor-piercing dart encased in a bullet or shell-shaped unit known as a sabot that is discarded once it leaves the barrel of a firearm. The shape of the dart means that is has less aerodynamic drag than a bullet, allowing it to penetrate armor much more easily. Any modern or futuristic firearm which uses bullets for its ammunition can fire APDS rounds, although in the case of small arms it is dubiously realistic; you may wish to treat APDS rounds compatible with pistols or smaller caliber rifles as a futuristic invention.

A firearm which uses APDS rounds gains the armor piercing (-3) property. If weapon already has armor piercing property, then that property increases by 3.
