When you cast this spell, you may choose one willing creature within range to make "silenced". That creature makes no sound when talking or casting spells, and all spells that would require the verbal component no longer require it for that creature. Should this mean that a spell has no verbal, somatic, or material components, the spell simply does not function.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the number of creatures you can target increases by 1 for each spell slot above the first.
