Weapon (whip), rare (requires attunement)

This metal whip burns those it hits physically or burns away their soul. On hit, this weapon deals 1d8 additional fire or psychic damage (your choice).

Flaming Whip. As a bonus action, you may conjure a gout of fire out of the end of the whip, extending the range of it to 20 feet until end of your turn. When you use this property, the whip can only deal fire damage that turn.

Soul Confusion. Immediately after you hit a creature with this weapon, as a bonus action you may empower your strike to assault the target's soul. The target must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be under the effects of the confusion spell for 1 minute or until they make another DC 15 Wisdom saving throw at the end of their turn ending the effect. This effect may be used 2 times, and this weapon regains all expended uses at dawn.
