Guitar of the Sightless Blade (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (Magical Instrument), Legendary (requires attunement) A rather normal looking guitar, but the longer you look at it, the more magical, the more minor details appear, and the more enamored you become with it. Details appear that weren't there before. It's as if someone created the Universe itself and imbued it within the guitar. The color is always the viewer's favorite color. The beauty it exudes is always the viewers ideal guitar. This is truly all in the eye of the beholder. Whisperblade Serenade Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade has 3 charges. As an action while you are holding Wailing Wind, you can expend a charge to play a haunting chord. The guitar shoots out 6 invisible blades. These cannot be dodged or detected by any magic. Each blade hits a creature of your choice that you can see within range. A blade deals 1d10 + 1 piercing damage to its target. The blades all strike simultaneously, and you can direct them to hit one creature or several. (+1 levels of exhaustion to wielder). Each time a successful Whisperblade Serenade is performed, roll a d20. On a natural 1, Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade breaks and is destroyed. Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade regains all expended charges daily at dawn. Gentle Weep Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade has 3 charges. As an action while you are holding Wailing Wind, you can expend a charge to play a haunting chord. On an Attack hit to a creature within 5 feet of you, the Guitar instantaneously sprouts an invisible 10 foot spike, lifting the target creature in the air and pushing them back 5 feet in any direction. The spike hits with 6d6+6 Damage, then immediately releases the target creature that falls to the ground and goes prone. (+1 levels of exhaustion to wielder). Each time a successful Gentle Weep is performed, roll a d20. On a natural 1, Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade breaks and is destroyed. Wailing Wind: The Guitar of the Sightless Blade regains all expended charges daily at dawn. Curse. This Guitar is cursed. Attuning to this item curses you until you are targeted by a wish spell. The only way to remove exhaustion caused by Wailing Wind is to drink at a tavern. No amount of rest will fulfill the need for a great ale, nor will drinking alone or at a "house party". Only the company of strangers and a beverage poured by a bartender with years of experience will make you feel better. Drinking this way removes 1 level of exhaustion per hour. The wielder of Wailing Wind must also strum the guitar and put at least 1 dagger (causing 1 point of piercing damage) into a living creature, lethal or not, every 6 hours or suffer 6d6+6 damage themselves. The victim of this attack will not know where it came from. |
