Goggles of the Despoiler (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)

A pair of gold-rimmed glasses with blue-green crystals in the middle. Looking through the goggles reveals they don't discolor anything viewed through them, and visible living plants and creatures are highlighted with a red glow. When attuned to them, the goggles shrink to snugly fit the wearer's face, even without fastenings of any kind.

Anti-Blindness. The airtight seal of the goggles prevents mundane obstructions, and a small anti-magic field resists magical blindness. You have advantage on saving throws to resist being blinded, and you can see in heavily obscured areas as if they were lightly obscured, and lightly obscured areas as if there was no obstruction.

Despoiling. As an action, you can target an object you can see. While you concentrate on this effect, such an object takes 4d6 necrotic damage every turn until it leaves your view. Metal rusts, wood rots, stone crumbles into dusts, etc. If the creature is a living plant, it only takes 2d6 necrotic damage until it dies.

Withering. As an action, you can target a creature with your despoiling effect. At the start of its turns, the creature must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 necrotic damage, taking half as much on a success. If this damage reduces a creature to 0 hit points, it crumbles into dust and dies immediately.
