Glasses of Truesight (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement)

They appear as simple brown arched glasses with a few strange markings on the arch, The markings are different on every pair, powerful casters normally wear these as a way to find people who try to escape into the ethereal plane, with some being able to follow.

Shifting Horizon. It takes 1d6 days to attune with the glasses, when attunement completes, they will shed dim light for 10 feet until the end of your next turn.

Pierce the Veil. While attuned to the glasses, you have truesight out to 60 feet.

Tinted Lenses. These come in a simple variety of colors and types, and grant creatures attuned to it an additional effect based on the glasses lenses:

  • Teal: this item has 3 charges, you may expend 1 charge as a bonus action to cast the polymorph spell with the only target being yourself you restore 1 charge every long rest, this item will also allow you to cast disguise self at will without expending a slot
  • Purple: these ones will allow you to see 2X the amount of the truesight area on the ethereal plane, using a full action you can interact with the ethereal plane for 1 hour. You may also travel into the ethereal plane and vice versa, this effect may only be used every 4 days, this form of magical discharge makes the glasses useless for the time until you could traverse again.
  • Black: this item has 5 charges; you may expend one charge to cast darkness with your Intelligence as the modifier, you restore 1d2 charges every long rest
  • White: This item has 5 charges: you can expend one charge to cast invisibility on yourself, you restore 1d4 charges every long rest
  • Red: This type automatically removes any illusion that isn't theirs, or an ally, and if you absorb an illusion you gain 1 charge, note that it is an enemy illusion that gives the charge, you may use a charge to cast Major Illusion yourself, the spell casting ability will be Intelligence. you can also cast minor illusion at will
