Gavotta's Ragnarok (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
9th-level Transmutation | |
Casting time: | 15 minutes |
---|---|
Range: | 1 mile |
Components: | At least 20 but no more than 100 +1 or higher adamantine lances, each coated in a flammable liquid such as oil, and a golden brazier |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
After performing a 15 minute chant over the lit brazier with the chosen lances laid on the ground around you, wisps of flame fly from the brazier and ignite each lance's coating. Each lit lance then hovers into a vertical position and flies into the sky before growing 50 times in size and falling to earth on a structure of your choice within range. Each structure hit by a lance is immediately destroyed, and all creatures inside the structure or within 50 feet of it must make a Dexterity saving throw, dropping to 0 hit points on a failed save or taking 110 (20d10) fire or force damage (your choice) on a successful one, structures automatically fail this save, and a creature can only be affected by one lance per casting of this spell. Any lances remaining after all structures in the area have been destroyed can be used to target creatures in the spell's range. At the end of the spell, the lances return to normal size, but remain superheated, as though heat metal was cast on them as a 5th-level spell, for 1d4 days.
To cast this spell is intensely draining, and after you finish casting it, you must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, gaining two levels of exhaustion on a failed save, or only one level on a successful one.
