Gauntlets of Megaton Blows (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item (gauntlets), legendary (requires attunement)
A wandering martial artist who had an obsession with fighting large brutish enemies needed a weapon to help even the playing field, and thus commissioned a blacksmith to make him weapons worthy of his goal.
While wearing these gauntlets, you add +2d6 to the damage of your unarmed strikes, and they are considered magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunity to non-magical damage. In addition, it has the following additional properties below:
Bludgeon Resistance. You gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning damage when wearing these gauntlets.
Gauntlet Magic. The gauntlets has 3 charges, and regain 1d3 charges each dawn. You can use these charges to activate the following properties:
- You can spend 1 charge to cast fly, targeting yourself.
- When you take damage from an attack, you can spend 1 charge to absorb the energy from that attack, using a reaction. Until the start of your next turn, your successful attack deal additional damage equal to half the damage you have taken (before any damage reduction or resistances are applied).
- You can spend up to 3 charges when you hit a creature to cause additional damage equal to 1d8 bludgeoning, plus 1d8 bludgeoning per charge spent.
Final Blow. If the gauntlet has all the 3 charges, you can spend all of them on a single powerful blow. Doing so completely destroys the gauntlet, but the target and any creature within a 10-foot radius (including you) take 10d10 force damage. If you use this property after hitting a creature with an attack, that creature takes additional damage equal to 4d8 bludgeoning, plus half the force damage you take from the destruction of the gauntlet.
