Galileans are silicon-based life forms, literally living planets. They are large, robust creatures with a rocky, reddish-brown skin. Their central body houses a planetary core of molten lava, which glows brightly in their chest. Their mouth is gigantic, with teeth made of rock, giving them an imposing appearance. They have light brown feet with three toes, and their hands have three fingers and a thumb on each. When using their powers, they emit a misty, ethereal aura, and their limbs can retract, allowing them to become a sphere similar to a small planet.

History[edit]

The Galileans come from the orbit of a distant planet called Keplorr, which is full of asteroids where gravity is the dominant force. These beings evolved to harness and manipulate gravity, shaping their world and surviving in the most extreme conditions. Their civilization is highly advanced and uses gravity fields to build cities suspended in the air. After their home planet was threatened by cosmic forces, the Galileans ventured into the stars, trying to preserve their knowledge and culture throughout the universe.

Society[edit]

Galilean society is organized around their wisdom and mastery of gravity. They respect those who have perfected their skills, and often form guilds or orders dedicated to different aspects of gravitational manipulation. Their society values balance and harmony, seeking to maintain stability in all aspects of life. However, they are also warriors, ready to defend their territory with the overwhelming force of gravity.

Galilean Traits[edit]

Design Note: Please see large player rules when considering this race.

I have my own orbit? That is pretty cool!
Ability Score Increase. Wisdom score increases by 1 and your Constitution score increases by 2.
Age. As living planets, Galileans have a life expectancy of millions of years, and the oldest recorded Galilean was 100 million years old.
Alignment. Galileans are mostly lawful, seeking balance and order, but can also be neutral in their desire to maintain harmony.
Size. A Galilean are 6 to 8 feet tall and weigh 400 to 800 pounds. Your size is Large.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Planetary resistance. Your hit point maximum increases by 2, and it increases by 2 every time you gain a level.
Gravitational Flow Management. You gain resistance to force damage, you have advantage against effects that attempt to push you and, if they succeed in pushing you, you are only pushed half the original distance. Additionally, you are immune to be prone.
Living Planet. Your creature type is construct instead of humanoid. As such, spells like cure wounds don't affect you, and you are immune to spells like crown of madness or dominate person because they specifically target humanoids. You are immune to poison damage, being poisoned, and diseases. You do not need to eat or breathe. Rather than sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 6 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.
Gravity Force. As an action, you can create a gravitational field in a 20-foot radius around you. This field doubles the weight of all creatures and objects within its area of effect for 1 minute. Affected creatures suffer disadvantage on attack rolls and skill tests and saving throw requiring Strength or Dexterity, and their speed is halved. Inanimate objects may be trapped or immobilized under their own weight. You must finish a short or long rest before using this trait again.
Planet Form. As a bonus action, you can retract your limbs and take the form of a small planet. By doing this, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and your AC receives a +1 bonus, but with your limbs restricted, you cannot interact with objects, you cannot perform help actions, you cannot make any melee attacks, and you cannot cast spells with somatic components. You can return to your normal form using the same bonus action.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and Primordial.

Racial Feats[edit]

Orbit

Prerequisites: Galilean
Galileans have the innate ability of control their own orbit turning them into a dangerous walking gravity force.

  • Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
  • As an action for 5 minutes, you activate your orbit in a 30-foot area around you. While using your orbit you get the following benefits:
  • Gravitational Control: You get the benefits of the Telekinesis spell without components, but this is not limited to a single object or creature, you can select up to a number of objects or creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1).
  • Gravitational Anchor: As a reaction to an attack directed at you or an ally within 30 feet, you can instantly increase gravity to trap the attacker. The attacker must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus). If he fails, he suffers 2d8 force damage and his attack is disrupted. If he passes the saving throw, he takes half damage, but the attack continues.
  • Orbital Deviation: Any projectile becomes useless against you, both magical and non-magical. As a reaction, you stop any projectile that enters your orbit and now they are under your control, (guided projectiles lose this function) the projectiles remain spinning around your orbit, for each turn they spend spinning in your orbit an extra d6 of force damage is added (up to a maximum of 6d6). You can launch these projectiles as part of your attack action on your turn, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Wisdom Modifier + your proficiency bonus), on a failure it takes the damage from the projectiles launched from your orbit and is pushed 30 feet, on a success it only takes half the damage and is pushed 15 feet.
  • Lethal Attraction: As an action, you can force creatures within 30 feet of you to make a Strength saving throw, or else the creatures will be restricted and will be pulled into your orbit while spinning in it, the creatures can repeat the save on each of their turns to see if they break free. As a bonus action you can expel them from your orbit causing them to suffer 1d6 force damage and they are pushed 10 feet, for each turn the creatures spin in your orbit the damage die and the number of feet of the push is added back (up to a maximum of 6d6 and 60 feet).

You can use your Orbit a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, you recover all uses after a long rest.

Master of Relativity

Prerequisites: Galilean and the orbit feat
As a Galilean, you have perfected your control over gravity, this mastery allows you to bend the rules of physics in your immediate environment.

  • Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
  • Gravitational Affinity: Gravity abilities you possess inflict one additional die of damage, also the area of effect of any gravity ability increases by an additional 10 feet, additionally the DC against gravity ability increase by 2 and the duration of the ability increase by 1.
  • Gravity shield: As a reaction when you or a creature within 10 feet of you are attacked, you can generate a gravity shield. By doing so you cannot be targeted by ranged attacks and the damage is halved until your next turn.
  • Density Pulse: As an action, choose an object or creature within 30 feet of you. The creature must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus). If it fails, its speed is reduced to 0 for a d4 of turns, and it takes force damage equal to 2d8 due to the crushing weight. Affected objects fall to the ground and are immovable for the same period.
  • Critical Mass: As an action, choose a weapon being held by a creature within 30 feet of you. The wielder of the weapon must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus). If he fails, the weapon disintegrates, becoming useless and reduced to rubble. Magical weapons have advantage on this roll, and legendary weapons or artifacts are immune to this effect, additionally you can make this affect all weapons within range of your orbit.
  • Asteroid Rain: As an action you can pick up all objects within 30 feet of you with your telekinesis throw them into a 30 foot area that you can see, creatures within that area must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d6 + your Wisdom modifier for blunt damage and are knocked down, on a success they only take half damage and are not knocked down.
