Fate and Fortune (5e Equipment)

Weapon (dagger), rare (requires attunement by a rogue)

These two enchanted daggers hail from the expansive Eidosi Underdark, home of the decimated Drow Kingdom. Crafted as a matching set

Fate, a wicked throwing blade, it's ebony handle wreathed in silver accent bears a hedronically cut red stone in the pommel. Fate adds a +1 bonus to all attack and damage rolls made with the weapon, and all successful attacks deal maximum rolled weapon damage (4 + 1 bonus + your damage modifier). Fate cannot deal critical hit damage, even on a natural 20. Fate can be used to apply sneak attack damage, but all extra damage from sneak attacks are automaticly rolled at half the maximum.

Fortune is Fate's twin, though the black grip is instead accepted with gold, and a sapphire adorns the pommel. Fortune deals 1 point of necrotic damage to the attacker whenever it is used to make a melee weapon attack. On a successful hit, roll a d20. If the result of the roll is 13 or higher, Fortune deals an additional 12d10 necrotic, or 100 necrotic damage bypassing immunities and resistances, whichever is more.

Fate and Fortune count as a single weapon for purposes of attunement. Both daggers' enchantments only activate when within 150 feet of eachother and attuned to the same creature. Seperately, their enchantments deactivate and both function as normal daggers until brought back within range.
