False God (5e Race)[edit]

Some mortals fancy themselves to be on the same power level of gods, more often than not they search for ways to make their bodies and souls reach these heights. Some mortals are so ingrained in their morals that they become the living embodiment of those morals, becoming the god that represents them. Beings of this race have reached these heights, attaining the title of ‘False God’, an insult created by those they assumed they would be brethren with.

A cult leader, corrupted by necrotic power, learning and accomplishing the height of these newfound powers, becoming the God of Pestilence.

An adventurer who saves a town, giving a decree not to hoard wealth, but instead to share it with whomever needed it, one who used shadows to defend the weak, becoming the God of Wealth and Shadows.

Physical Description[edit]

You had a normal body once, but maybe your godhood has transformed it. You now look or resemble anything your heart may desire, but there is one catch to this: You must retain at least 2 features from your original form. (Elf ears, Leonin nose, Dhampir eyes, etc.).

Society[edit]

You have become a god, yet the gods you worshipped or knew of in your mortal life seem to look on you with disgust. You have been branded a ‘False God’, despite your dedication to this achievement. Your fellow False Gods all seem to share distrust with each other, so you find it natural to keep this sentiment since you never know who could end your reign as a god.

False God Names[edit]

Your godhood came after your ascension, you had a name prior to this state of being. You may choose to keep this name, or take a completely new one, but you have a title now. The God/Goddess of _______. (Sickness, Greed, Love, etc.).

False God Traits[edit]

Ascended mortals who have taken immortal life among gods, with the title of 'False God' given to them by the ones they considered brethren.
Ability Score Increase. You have taken godhood for yourself, but yet, you retain the abilities you had before. You keep any bonuses you had with your race prior to taking godhood, and you gain a +2 to either your strength or dexterity score due to your newly perfected body.
Age. You may be immortal, but once you weren’t always that way. Your age may reflect the age you were upon reaching godhood, from whatever race you may have been before.
Alignment. These beings follow their own morals, so none of them ever follow a singular, same purpose. Every ‘False God’ has a different alignment, so choose whatever alignment best fits your purpose.
Size. You had a natural form once, but your ascension may have altered it. You may keep the size you once were, or, you can move up one or down one in size from your original size. (Medium – Small, Medium – Large).
Speed. Your corporeal body has reached peak form. You have a base walking speed of 50ft. You also have a swimming/climbing speed that is equal to your walking speed.
Divine Resistance. You have 3 damage resistances, 1 being determined from the type of god you are (determined in the below table), the other 2 are chosen at will. You also have 1 vulnerability, which is also determined by the below table. You cannot have a resistance to the specified vulnerability, and any effects or features that give a resistance to the damage type are ignored. (These do not need to be the definite god-types, only a basis on their morals or powers)
Celestial Wings. You have feathered wings that grant you a flying speed of 60 feet. These wings are extensions of your celestial soul and as such can be made incorporeal, and can be made invisible to most senses at will.
Celestial Being. Upon the completion of your ascension to godhood, something changed deep inside you. For all spell or identifying purposes, as well as any general purpose, you are now considered the Celestial creature type.
Gods-sight. You have the privilege of being one of the few beings in your universe blessed with the all-seeing eyes of the gods. You have truesight up to 150ft. A creature with truesight can, out to a specific range, see in normal and magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceives the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic. Furthermore, the creature can see into the Ethereal Plane.
State Of Godhood. You do not require sleep, nor do you need to breathe due to your state of being in the universe.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write any and all languages in this universe. You can also speak telepathically in any lesser mind. (Any creature type that is not Primordial, Deity, Celestial, Entity).
