Hemlock-Blessed[edit]

Many of the Moon's worshippers, upon dusk, make holy pilgrimage to the Salt Forests. In these forests grow hemlock, a highly valuable and magical plant which is necessary for many rituals of the moon. Smugglers bring it westward to those unable to make the journey, and large groups which worship the Moon will travel to obtain it. In this sacred ritual, many fervent Moon worshippers will stand in a circle and drink liquefied hemlock. Then, they will fight to the death. After the bloodshed, if the Moon is adequately entertained, the last ones living will gain her blessing. Mixing divine magics and a slow, bestial transformation, the Hemlock-Blessed are seen as saints by the Moon Church and reviled by others.

Creating a Hemlock-Blessed[edit]

Despite their inherent bloodlust as a piece of their transformation, Hemlock-Blessed are capable of putting their skills to use in a constructive manner within an adventuring party. The Hemlock-Blessed may have a variety of personalities and reasons for adventuring. They could be in it for religious reasons, believing that they may find further salvation. They could want to try to fulfill their need for violence while also helping people.

Quick Creation[edit]

You can make a Hemlock-Blessed quickly by following these suggestions. First, Strength should be your first ability score, followed by Wisdom. Second, choose the Acolyte background.
