Eternal Ember (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item, uncommon (minor) This small round black rock glows with flecks of bright red. When exposed to open air, it erupts into flames that fill a 2½-foot cube. The flames give off heat normal for a fire of its size, and bright light for 25 feet and dim light for a further 25 feet beyond that, and will ignite flammable objects that aren't being worn or carried. A creature that touches the eternal ember or the fire that emanates from it unprotected takes 1d4 fire damage, and continues to take 1d4 fire damage at the end of each of its turns while the eternal ember or its flames are in direct contact with its body. A creature can use an action to smother the eternal ember by covering it with an object such as a thick leather cloth or by stowing it in a small metal container, causing it to stop emitting flames and rendering it safe to carry. While submerged in water, the eternal ember causes the water in a 5-foot radius around it to boil. A creature that ends its turn in the boiling water takes 1d4 fire damage. |
