Dragon Rider's Bond (5e Equipment)

Weapon (longsword), artifact (Requires attunement by a Dragon Rider, or someone who is on friendly terms with one or more dragons.)
The Dragon Riders Bond is a weapon forged by a dragon for it's partner, and as such, holds the magical properties of a Golden Dragons fire, and contains the passion and caring of a sould bond between a dragon and it's rider.
Random Properties. The Dragon Riders Bond has the following random properties:
- 3 minor beneficial properties
- 1 major beneficial property
Soulbound: When your dragon dies, their soul is entrapped in this blade, and you may skip the DC 20 check to retain your sanity, and this blade gains Sentience, with your dragons persona within it.
Bonded as Blood: As long as your dragon is alive, and within 160 ft. of you, you gain +1 proficiency of your choice.
Guardian: If during your, or another turn, an ally would take a physical attack, you may make a dash up to your movement speed, and roll a DC of the attack roll to deflect and take half damage to yourself rather than your ally. If you fail this check, you take full damage.
Forged in Fire: This blade gives the wielder transparent scales similar to a Gold Dragons. +1 to AC (Natural Armor), and resistance to fire.
Destroying the Dragon Riders Bond. This item, forged by the magic of dragons fire, can be destroyed by taking it to a Dragon of Evil alignment.
