Weapon (dagger), legendary (requires attunement)

A burst weapon scaling off of proficiency

A lone Dwarven Artificer hurriedly finishes his latest craft as a crowd of Goblins start bursting in through the floor. He took down two but more kept coming. Thinking he was spent, he channeled as much Arcane Magic as his inexperienced self would allow in a final desperate act. As silence befell the workshop, he looked up to see a cloud of daggers surrounding him, leaving the Goblins in nothing but ribbons.

Generations later, an Armored Dwarf would take up the same weapon, scarcely holding off a small army of undead until backup could arrive. He thought he was alone, until the item was activated, and countless daggers filled the air by his side. This Dwarf was outnumbered, but far from outmatched.

This item was forged by the Dekkard, thought to be the last artificer of Oberron long ago.

Dekkard's Craft. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with Dekkard's blade. It deals 2d6 damage on a hit.

Bladestorm. While you are attuned to Dekkard's blade, you may use your action to briefly summon a whirling cloud of daggers around you. All creatures within 5 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw with DC equal to 10 + your proficiency bonus: A creature that fails this saving throw takes 2d6 slashing damage. You may use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so daily at dawn.

Iron Will. The power of Dekkard's blade directly scales with its wielder. While you are attuned to Dekkard's blade, its bonus and damage dice increase: The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases when you reach 9th level (+2) and 17th level (+3), and the damage dice of the Bladestorm ability increase when you reach 5th level (3d6), 9th level (4d6), 13th level (5d6), and 17th level (6d6).
