I am nominating Jazzman831 for adminship since I feel that Jazzman831 has exemplified some admin qualities and has shown a desire to help in some admin-only areas. Jazzman831 helped organize and looked over content which had no correlation to his/her own content. Not only on discussions of pages when authors and others had questions relating to the content but also with regard to the content found within d20 Modern Equipment and that entire section as well as d20 Modern in a more broad sense. This same selfless helping to D&D Wiki and to others can be seen in the WIP of a d20 Modern stat block as well as has been shown to continue (Category Talk:Candidates for Deletion#Deletion Schedule?).
Although Jazzman831 has just under a thousand edits, very few for a potential admin, I feel his helpfulness and desire to be helpful to D&D Wiki and to others' makes this not a point of contention. --Green Dragon 20:31, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- Candidate's Prelude
- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve D&D Wiki in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list on Wikipedia before answering.
- A: The biggest chore I would like to help with is what I do a lot of already: basic maintenance. I would like to be available to help to such tasks as cleaning out the deleted pages category, as well as fix typos on protected pages. There's very little vandalism on this site, but should it occur I would revert and block the vandals.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to D&D Wiki, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: My biggest contribution is my beginning of the organization of the d20 Modern side of things. I have added a Progress Level category to every single item of custom equipment, I have helped in the overhaul of the d20 Modern Equipment page, I have started a series of breadcrumb templates, and I have converted {{Stat Block 2}} to be usable with d20 Modern (see {{d20M Stat Block}}). Most of the work I've done on this site, while valuable, has been minor and humble in content, so it's hard to point to any one thing. (For an idea of the kinds of projects I've completed, are working on, and plan on doing, see my user page).
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Eh, sort of, kind of, not really. A user came off to me as gruffer than I think he intended and I got a little annoyed. I don't want to out anyone in public because in the end nobody did anything wrong; if this is a concern send me a message and I'll explain it further, privately.
Candidate's commentary:
- Question 1 above only applies to "sysop chores", but, if approved, I also plan on using admin privileges to do things I can't currently do. One major project I want to do is wikify the MSRD; currently it's all plain text and I think we can get a lot more functionality out of it by simply adding wikilinks and anchor tags.
- As Green Dragon stated, I am relatively new to this site, but I'm not new to the ways of the wiki nor to the ways of adminship. If I'm approved, I'll use the full compliment of my wiki experience to improve this site any way I can. If you look over my edits so far, I think you'll find that I'm agreeable and have a lot to add to the site.

I was wary at first as I have not encountered Jazz on Dandwiki before. But after a good look through his contributions and his attitude. He is most definitely a suitable candidate for adminship. Good luck. --SgtLion 05:29, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I support this motion. I watch Jazzman's edits and find him skilled both digitally, logically, and socially. He has been and will continue to be an outstanding member of this community. --Jay Freedman 05:33, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I normally don't chime in on these things, but I keep an eye on recent edits, and Jazzman does a lot of maintenance and clean up around here. I for one appreciate the dedication to quality control. --Name Violation 06:04, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Jazz has filled up the recent edits screen more often than I care to recount, and the quality of his contributions speak for themselves. With admin privileges, he could accomplish even more; likewise, he's more than dedicated enough to fulfill his admin responsibilities. --Illeist 01:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Seems like a good guy, just don't know him well enough to be able to chime in either way. Hooper talk contribs email 22:38, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
