Curio Death Whistle (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, rare A strange magical instrument made by an even stranger ripht known as Curious Melody, this unique type of death whistle is made of obsidian and inlaid with bronze, iron, copper, and silver. When played, it will make a loud screaming sound that drives fear and pain into the minds of those who hear it. Perishing Song. This whistle has 5 charges. While playing it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the dissonant whispers spell (save DC 13) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend. The whistle regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dusk. Retribution Song. When you expend this whistle's final charge, roll a d20. On a 1, it will let loose a deafening scream of its own accord and you will need to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. If you fail, you will take 9d6 psychic damage. If you succeed, you will take half as much damage. |
