The crown of thorns is a symbol to all who see it — a symbol of humility and, thusly, divinity.
While you wear the crown, you have resistance to magical damage. However, you are now cursed as the wearer and take 1 damage through blood loss every time an attack is made against you. This damage is not reduced by the crown of thorns.
Furthermore, if the crown of thorns is removed from your head for any reason, you begin bleeding profusely from your head and take 1d10 damage at the start of your turn for 1 minute or until magically healed or a healer's kit is used to close the wound.
