Creator of Thralls (5e Equipment)

Weapon (dagger), rare (requires attunement)

A creator of thralls is a magical dagger from the Far Realm. You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made using this magic weapon, which deals an additional 1d8 psychic damage on a hit. When you hit a humanoid with an attack using the dagger, it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become your thrall. A creature automatically succeeds on the saving throw if it is immune to being charmed.
A creature that is your thrall is charmed by you and you can communicate telepathically with it as long as it is on the same plane as you. Once on your turn (no action required), you can issue a mental command to your thrall if it is on the same plane as you. You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to guard a particular chamber or corridor. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.
You can only have one creature as your thrall at a time. To create a new thrall, you must release your old thrall first.
If Xalthon is attuned to a creator of thralls, the DC for the saving throw is increased to 20 and it can turn any type or number of creatures into its thralls. When it commands its thralls, it issues the same command to any or all of them.
