Ring, very rare (requires attunement)

A silver ring depicting a snake that could have been, but never was, a dragon. If one's shackles are cause for discontent, perhaps it is time for some old-fashioned greed.

While attuned to this ring, you receive an experience point bonus after every combat encounter. When (and if) the Dungeon Master distributes experience to party members, you gain an additional 20% derived from the total you received. For example, when you would normally receive 100 XP, you instead receive 120 XP.

Covetous Curse. Each time you gain a level with additional experience gained by the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring, roll a 20 sided die. If you roll below your level, you gain the flaw "I'm willing to do anything to become more powerful," and also receive a long-term madness chosen by the Dungeon Master. Should you roll above or equal to your level, however, you retain your sanity, but are not immune to the curse should this circumstance happen again.
