Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)

This item looks like an ornate cat figurine. As an action, you can place the figurine on the empty space within 5 feet of you, which causes the figurine transform into a cat that is friendly to you. The cat is identical to an ordinary cat, except for the following features:

  • It is a construct instead of a beast.
  • It has immunity to poison and psychic damage, and cannot be poisoned.
  • It can understand any spoken language that you can understand, but cannot speak it.

The cat is friendly toward you and your companions. In combat, the cat rolls its own initiatives and takes its turn. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you do not issue any commands to it, it defends itself from hostile creatures, but otherwise takes no actions.

You can command the cat to use its bonus action to copy the appearance of one creature it can see within 30 feet of it (no action required from you). The cat transforms into the shape of the chosen creature, gaining its statistics. While transformed into other creature this way, the cat cannot speak or cast spells. The transformation lasts for 1 minute or until the cat's concentration is broken (as if concentrating on a spell), after which it drops to 0 hit point.

The cat lasts for 8 hour, after which it reverts to a figurine. It also reverts to a figurine when it is killed or when its hit point drops to 0 in any form. You can also speak a command word to revert it back to figurine (no action required). Once the cat is reverted to a figurine, you cannot change it back to a cat until the next dawn.
