Combustioneer[edit]

The fires of our fight shall burn forever.
—Huffintuff Gearsmith, gnomish Combustioneer

Combustioneers are highly skilled practitioners of cremation, teaching the art to societies all over the world. They are also masters of fire elementrics.

Becoming a Combustioneer[edit]

Combustioneers are chosen from among the various classes of Claine, most often the Emberclaine (fire elementricians) and Northclaine (monks). Constitution and Wisdom are their most important Ability Scores.

Class Features[edit]

Like all members of the Church of Modroben, Combustioneers are expected to be neutral in most affairs (excepting only the defense of death, time and fate). Their class features should not be used except in the manner of church business and in direct self-defense. It is very rare for Combustioneer powers to be used against anyone other than undead creatures or necromancers. All of the following are class features of the Combustioneer:

Cremate Body: Combustioneers can cast Cremate a number of times per day equal to their character level plus their Wisdom modifier.

Know Extinguisher: Combustioneers can cast Know Extinguisher three times per day.

Taste Ashes: At second level, Combustioneers can taste ash and know what product burnt to produce it. This does not give specific information, just a general description, like "treated oak wood" or "a human female".

Fireball: At third level, Combustioneers can cast Fireball once per day.

Fire Shield: At fourth level, Combustioneers can cast Fire Shield three times per day.

At sixth level, Combustioneers can cast Fireball three times per day. One of these three castings can be at maximum damage.

Elementrics: At fifth level, Combustioneer may spend six months in training and then begin taking one Kata per level in the Rellgah Fire Tradition of Elementrics.

Flame Strike: At sixth level, Combustioneers can cast Flame Strike once per day.

At ninth level, their bonus Flame Strike is always at maximum damage.

Mass Cremate: At eighth level, Combustioneers can Mass Cremate every body within one mile of him. This also causes 3d6 damage to all undead in that range. There is no save.
