Cloak of Winter's Aspects (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement) (This magic item is intended to be supplementary material for Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, this item can be found by defeating inhabitants of the Dale, or perhaps purchased in Ten-Towns.) This plain-looking cloak is made out of a hide Indigenous to Icewind Dale. The animal in life was a minion of the Frostmaiden, and her blessing has remained with the hide. The cloak has 3 charges, and it regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn. While wearing the cloak, you can use an action to expend one of its charges to magically assume the shape of the beast that the cloak is made from. You can remain in this form for a number of hours equal to half of your character's level. You then revert to your normal form unless you expend another use of this feature. You can revert to your normal form earlier by using a Bonus Action on your turn. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 Hit Points, or die. While you are transformed, all the rules of Wild Shape apply (See PHP 66), except you may only assume the shape of the animal that the cloak is made from. An example of animals the cloak could be made off include, Saber-tooth Tiger, White Dragon Wyrmling, Winter Wolf, Snowy Owlbear, and Mammoth. |
