You summon forth the frosty claws of Agathys, which hover above your shoulders until the spell ends. You can use a bonus action to attempt to strike one creature or object within 10 feet of you with one of the claws. When you do so, make a melee spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 cold damage. Whether you hit or miss, the claw is expended. The spell ends early if you expend the last claw.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the number of claws created increases by one for each slot level above 2nd.
