Potion, Rare (Minor)

this potion was created by alchemists trying to find a cheaper way to make transmutation potions, and thus used far cheaper ingredients than the real thing. the potions ingredients are the following: one part distilled alchohol, one part animal blood, and a couple drops of amphibian saliva. this creates a frothy potion that, based on what blood you chose, will transform you into an animal (theoretically).

The potions come in three varieties: raven, snake, and spider.

The raven variety is soupy and grey, When you consume the raven variety, roll a d6. (1-feathers cover your body in thin patches, no effect and the feathers last until someone takes an action to pluck them.) (2-your throat and lungs become that of a raven. you cannot speak any of you known languages, but you can speak to birds as if you shared a language. the effect wears off after 1d4 days.) (3-your hands transform into ravens. you have disadvantage on all dexterity rolls that involve using your hands, but you have a +20 to your flying speed when you are not holding or wearing anything on your hands. the effect wears off after 1d4 hours.) (4- you sprout lopsided wings. you gain a +20 to your flying speed, but you have a -20 on swimming speed. in addition, upper body armour that does not leave room for wings cannot be worn. the wings shrivel and disappear after 1d4 days.) (5-your feet become talons. unarmed strikes deal 1d4+1 piercing damage. you have a -5 penalty to walking speed. wears off after 1d4 hours.) (6-you transform into a raven with your size. anything you are wearing or carrying is absorbed or dropped on the ground, your choice. you act as if you are under the animal shapes spell, except you can return to normal as a bonus action.)

The snake variety is runny and green, when you consume the snake variety, roll a d6. (1-you gain scales in random patches on your skin. no effect, and you molt them after 1 hour.) (2-your throat becomes that of a snake. you cannot speak any of your languages, but you can speak with snakes as if you shared a language. lasts 1d4 days.) (3-your hands become two snake heads, giving you disadvantage on dexterity rolls involving using your hands. unarmed strikes deal a 1d4 piercing damage and 1d4+1 poison damage. the effects last 1d4 days.) (4-your face is snakelike and fanged, adding a 1d4+2 poison damage to your bite attacks. the effect wears off after 1d4 days.) (5-your entire body is covered in thick, sleek scales. you have advantage on checks made to escape grapples, but you have a -5 penalty to all speeds.) (6- you are transformed into a snake, as if under the spell animal shape. the only differences are, you are the size you normally are, everything you are wearing or carrying is either absorbed or dropped, your choice, and you can revert to normal as a bonus action.)

The spider variety is very thick and jet black. by consuming the spider variety, roll a d6. (1-your skin is covered in bristly spider like hairs. no effect, and lasts 1d4 hours.) (2-your throat becomes that of a spiders, and you cannot speak your languages. you can speak to spiders as if you shared a language. lasts for 1d4 days.) (3-your hands become large spiders, giving disadvantage on dexterity rolls involving using your hands. you gain a climbing speed that is half of your walking speed. lasts 1d4 days.) (4-you sprout additional spindly arms like that of a spider. creatures you have grappled have disadvantage on rolls made to escape your grapples, and your climbing speed is double your walking speed. wears off after 1d4 days.) (5-you have a lower body like a spider. your size is now one size up when it pertains to carrying capacity, but you are unable to wear clothing such as shoes that you would normally wear on your body. your walking speed is doubled, and you can walk across webbing as if it was normal terrain. you also have the trait spider climb. lasts for 1d4 days) (6-you are as if you were under the animal shape spell for a spider, except that you can speak with spiders as if you shared a language, are the size that you were before the effect, anything you were wearing or carrying is absorbed, and you may revert to normal as a bonus action.)

the potion costs 2gp, which makes them remarkably cheap considering how useful they can be if you are lucky. the effects do not stack, and drinking two different ones at once will cancel both potions effects. drinking two of the same will cause you to vomit 1d6 of the animal the potion was based on.
