You plant a specially prepared staff in the ground and cause it to animate into a mighty tree-like creature. The tree uses the game statistics of a treant, but it doesn't have the Animate Trees action or the ability to speak.
The tree is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, the tree shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It understands the languages you speak and obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any, it takes the dodge action and uses its move to avoid danger.
If the tree drops to 0 hit points, the spell ends and the staff used to cast it crumbles to ash.
