Burst Shield Terrestrial Prototype
Burst orb shields absorb incoming blows and store their kinetic energy. When the shield is depleted, the stored energy powers a deadly burst of fire, electicity or acid.
Slot: Waist
Special: When you first acquire the burst shield, roll 1d6 to determine the manafacturer:
1-2) S&S Munitions - Corrosive keyword; corrosive damage.
3-4) Maliwan - Electric keyword; electric damage.
5-6) Vladof - Thermal keyword; thermal damage.

Power: Encounter
Immediate Interrupt
Personal
Trigger: You are hit by an attack or take damage from falling.
Effect: You gain 10 temporary hit points. When you next drop to 0 temporary hit points before the end of the encounter, you may use the shield burst power.

Salvage: Tech Level 6. A 6th-level character can salvage the Burst Shield. It becomes a simple energy shield, granting 6 temporary hit points at the beginning of each encounter and a +2 bonus to damage rolls made with attacks with the same keyword as the Burst Shield's manufacturer.
Weight: 2 lb.

A wave of electricity, fire or acid bursts from your shield in an expanding torus.

Free Action Close burst 2
Trigger: Your temporary hit points drop to 0.
Target: Each creature in burst
Attack: Your level + 6 vs. Reflex
Hit: 1d10 + twice your level damage of type according to manafacturer.
