Does this mean each gem can hold up to 2 spells each, or that the 3 gems can hold 2 spells (in total)? Is there a new casting time for the upcast spells (1 minute, 1 hour)? Are there additional, required components for the upcast? Do users expend their own spell slot when casting 8th level spells with this ring?

Ring, rare An unassuming bracelet with three white gems placed into it. Upcast. The wearer of this bracelet may enchant the three gems with 2 casts of any 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level spell. This spell will automatically be upcast to level 8. Enchanting the bracelet takes 10 hours. If all casts are spent the caster has to enchant it again. |
