Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Needs some standardization of language and dice (d10 perception roll?). Also some size guides would be nice for comparison.

Blinkweed Patches[edit]

To the untrained eye, these patches appear to be simple patches of overgrown grass. However, a subtle bluish hue hints at their magical nature. Anyone who wishes to identify whether a patch of grass is Blinkweed must succeed on a d10 Perception roll. On a success of 15 or higher, they will not only have differentiated it from regular grass but will also know its properties. If they succeed on a 14 or lower, they will be aware it is somehow unnatural but will not know how exactly that is. If a character or object of equal size to the patch or smaller passes through the grass, they are teleported to another patch of Blinkweed within 1 mile, given that there are any and are not covered or blocked. The Blinkweed can be harvested, and if consumed raw, will grant the ability to see 10 feet into the Etherial for 1 hour. If tossed in a fire, the smoke will turn a shade of blue. Walking through this blue smoke will transport you to another flame of any size within 5 miles of you. This is not an exact science, and fireplaces, lanterns, matches, fire spells, fire elementals, volcanoes, and just about anywhere else where fire exists can be where you end up, which as you can imagine, is not good. The smoke fades after something passes through it, and you can't go back the way you came unless you get lucky.
