Blade of Stygia (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement by a character with 15 Constitution or higher) This magic longsword has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, and is imbued with the hellish cold of Stygia, the fifth circle of the nine hells. On a hit, this sword deals an additional 1d6 cold damage. If an attack from this sword kills a creature, its corpse freezes solid as they draw their last breath. The sword can also summon a lesser devil to aid you with one of its stored charges. The devil considers you an ally, you have a temporary telepathic connection with the devil and can communicate with it in this way. It will be dismissed back to the Nine Hells upon its death, your command or a spell such as Banish. The sword holds 3 charges that can be expended with a bonus action. Each charge can summon an imp or using all three can summon a bearded devil. To regain a charge the wielder must kill a humanoid or fiend with the sword (freezing it) and the deceased creature makes a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On failure, the sword regains a charge. |
