Belt of Lost Things (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement) An extradimensional storage belt that evolved from the portable hole, it also features clever enchantments to help absentminded adventurers keep up with items they might otherwise misplace Woven of extremely fine linen in an elaborate and vibrant pattern, this sash is worn wrapped twice or thrice around the waist and tied in a knot. When removed, it unfolds into a one-and-a-half by twelve foot band of cloth, and reveals an inner surface brocaded in black silk, reminiscent of a portable hole. When laid out on the ground, the sash creates a six-inch deep extradimensional trench. You can spend a minute to close it by folding, rolling, or pleating the sash lengthwise to approximate a wide belt. Any objects within remain in the extradimensional space, and the belt itself weighs a tenth as much its contents. This space cannot be directly accessed while the belt is worn, but up to 10 pounds or 1 cubic foot of readily accessible material can be stashed in the folds of the belt. Stashing an object in this way follows the normal rules for interacting with objects, and retrieving a specific item requires you to use an action. Weapons, tools, and other narrow items up to twelve feet in length can also be tucked through the belt without coming out the other side, and as long as a reasonable length of handle is left protruding they can be drawn normally. If pushed all the way in, the item cannot be retrieved without laying the belt out, at which point any items stashed in the folds or tucked into the belt will appear in the trench as normal. Placing the belt inside an extradimensional space created by a bag of holding, handy haversack, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it and deposited in a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened. Lost and Found. When you attune to this belt, it spontaneously sprouts a dozen braided lanyards of black silk, six from each end. If you tie a lanyard to an item and then store it in the belt for seven days, the lanyard will snap and leave behind two tassels, one on the belt and one bonded to the item such that it can only be removed by you or with an appropriate spell. When a tassel is so removed, it crumbles to dust and the lanyard is restored upon the subsequent dawn. While the belt is laid out, yanking on a tassel will cause the corresponding item to disappear wherever it is, travel through the Astral Plane, and reappear in the belt an hour later. |
