Wondrous Item, very rare These small, dark purple spheres are identical in use to beads of force, but they do no damage, and the DC of the Dexterity saving throw is 16. Because of the difference in coloration, but not texture, characters that know of beads of force can make a DC 20 Wisdom (Perception) check when collecting the beads for the first time to notice the different color. They can attempt a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) check on the beads at any time for the same result. Finally, though only one is typically found at a time, they are more resilient than beads of force. When you use a bead of harmless force, roll a d20. On a 1 or 2, the bead is destroyed, otherwise it survives being used and drops where the sphere is when the effect ends. They are most often found among normal beads of force. Beads of harmless force survive use more often than not because they are made to sacrifice power for stability. |
