Axe of the Minotaur Kings (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (greataxe), artifact (requires attunement)
The greatest relic of the fabled Kingdom of Galade, this greataxe was once passed down through the many kings of the long lost kingdom, acting as a symbol of the authority, wisdom and might of the kings. Upon the fall of Galade, the axe was lost to time, and is foretold to one day enter the hands of the next true king of Galade.
Random Properties. The Axe of the Minotaur Kings has the following random properties:
- 2 minor beneficial properties
- 1 major beneficial property
- 2 minor detrimental properties
- 1 major detrimental property
Power of Legends. The Axe of the Minotaur Kings is a greataxe with a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. The axe additionally deals 2d12 slashing damage instead of the normal 1d12.
Might of Galade. The Axe of the Minotaur Kings deals an additional 18 (3d10) lightning damage on attacks made with the axe. This damage ignores resistances, and creatures that would normally regain hit points from lightning damage instead regain no hit points and are treated as having vulnerability to lightning damage.
Vicious. The Axe of the Minotaur Kings lands a critical hit on an attack roll of 19 - 20, and deals 42 (6d12) slashing damage on a critical hit. When targeting a creature with less than half their total hit points (rounded down), the range of critical rolls is increased to 18 - 20, and the damage from critical hit is increased to 84 (8d12) slashing damage.
Destroying the Axe of the Minotaur Kings. The Axe of the Minotaur Kings is invulnerable to all damage unless it is used to deal the killing blow to a creature attuned to the Crown of Glade, after which the axe can be taken to an antimagic field of any other dead magic zone and be destroyed as easily as a nonmagical greataxe
