Acheron Cube (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, legendary (major) This 4-inch iron cube is heavier than it looks. If you listen closely to it, you can hear the faint sounds of a massive battle within. As an action, you can say the cube's command word and throw it at a point on the ground up to 60 feet away. The cube unfolds into a flat configuration, becoming ethereal and expanding tremendously in size until each of its 1-mile faces is overlaid with the local terrain. The faces then fuse with the terrain, warping it into a wartorn battlefield. The area of this battlefield is covered with bands of spectral warriors that are hostile to every creature, including each other. The spectral warriors can't leave the area of the cube, and if one band perishes, more rise to take their place 1 minute later. After 24 hours, or if you travel to the center of the cube's area and say the cube's command word again, the battlefield and warriors disappear as the cube shrinks and refolds back into its original 4-inch form. Any damage dealt to the terrain is permanent, however. Once the cube has been used, it can't be used again until 7 days have passed. |
