Class Features

All the following are class features of the Brother of Blade:

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Brothers of Blade are proficient with the shortsword, longsword, bastard sword, scimitar, falchion and greatsword.

Brothers of Blade are not proficient with any armor or shields.

When a Brother of Blade is wearing any kind of armor, they lose the ability to use Blade Flurry, Meditative Strike and Leaping Attack, as well as the ability to use Whirlwind of Steel.

Monk abilities: A Brother of Blade’s class levels stack with his monk levels for the purpose of determining his bonuses to Armor Class and unarmored speed. His class levels do not apply to other monk abilities such as flurry of blows, slow fall, unarmed damage and so on.

Cleave: At 1st level, the Brother of Blade gains the benefits of the feat Cleave, but only if he downed his opponent with a sword he is proficient with.

Blade Flurry (Ex): At 2nd level, the Brother of Blade learns to swing his chosen weapon with amazing speed at the expense of his accuracy. When making a full attack action, the Brother may make a single extra attack at his highest Base Attack Bonus. This extra attack can only be made if the Brother is wielding a sword he is proficient with and wearing no armor. This attack and all other attacks made that round gain -2 penalty on attack rolls.

At 6th level, this -2 penalty on attack rolls lessens to -1.

At 10th level, the penalty on attack rolls disappear. Additionally, the Brother gains a second extra attack at his highest Base Attack Bonus.

Great Cleave: At 3rd level, the Brother of Blade gains the benefits of the feat Great Cleave, but only if he downed his opponent with a sword he is proficient with.

Meditative Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, the Brother of Blade gains the ability to make incredibly accurate attacks after a moment of meditation.

To use this ability, the Brother of Blade must meditate and concentrate on a particular opponent for one round. He must make a Concentration check against a DC 15. This process of meditation is a full round action that doesn't provoke an Attack of Opportunity.

If the Brother succeeds in his Concentration checks, he may on his next round make a single attack at his highest Base Attack Bonus against the opponent he concentrated on. This attack is considered touch attack.

At 7th level, the Meditative Strike improves. The meditation process only takes a standard action to complete. Also, after succesfully meditating, the Brother's weapon ignores hardness less than 20. If the weapon already ignores hardness less than 20, the amount of hardness the weapon ignores increases by 5.

A Brother of Blade may use Meditative Strike only if he's not wearing any kind of armor and wielding a sword he's proficient with.

Whirlwind of Steel: At 4th level, the Brother of Blade gains the ability to use Whirlwind Attack.

A Brother of Blade may use Whirlwind Attack only if he's not wearing any kind of armor and wielding a sword he's proficient with.

Leaping Attack (Ex): At 5th level, the Brother of Blade can make leaping attacks.

Whenever the Brother of Blade charges, he may make a DC 15 Jump check to gain +2 bonus to damage or a DC 25 Jump check to gain a +4 bonus.

A Brother of Blade may use Leaping Attack only if he's not wearing any kind of armor and wielding a sword he's proficient with.

Ki Sword (Su): At 7th level the Brother of Blade learns to infuse his chosen weapon with ki. Activating this ability is a free action that doesn't provoke an Attack of Opportunity. While using this ability, the Brother of Blade may add his Wisdom modifier to his attack and damage rolls. His weapon is also treated as a magic, adamantine and lawful weapon for the purpose of dealing damage to creatures with damage reduction. This ability lasts for number of rounds equal to 3 + the Brother's Wisdom modifier. The Brother may end this ability prematurely. A Brother may use Ki Sword only once per encounter. After using this ability, the Brother becomes fatigued (-2 penalty to Strength, -2 penalty to Dexterity, can't charge or run) for the duration of the current encounter.

The Brother of Blade may use this ability once per day at 7th level and one additional time for every three levels thereafter (10th, 13th and so on.)

A Brother of Blade may use Ki Sword only if he's not wearing any kind of armor and wielding a sword he's proficient and has Weapon Focus with.

Improved Whirlwind: At 8th level, a Brother of Blade who executes the Whirlwind of Steel may benefit from the extra attacks gained from the Great Cleave feat.

Multiclass Note: A monk who becomes a Brother of Blade may continue advancing as a monk.
