Meteor Hammer, Variant (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Meteor HammerMartial Melee Weapons
The meteor hammer is a set of two bludgeoning weights connected by a chain or rope, typically 6 feet long or is a single ball (often spiked) at the end of a long chain. This chain usually has a handle on the opposite end.
This variant focuses on the "Kill Bill" style (1 spiked ball; long chain) meteor hammer. Overall damage is reduced to allow the addition of the Extra Strike and Strangle features. Range: 5-15
If an attack with the meteor hammer is successful, once per turn the attacker can get a free attack on the same target as they pull the meteor hammer back through the air.
On an attack roll of 19 or 20 the attacker can chose to "strangle" the opponent by wrapping the chain around their neck regardless of the creature's AC. This move does not deal initial damage, however, at the start of each subsequent round, the strangled victim takes 1d4+attacker level suffocation damage and is considered prone. This damage increases by 1d4 for each round the victim is strangled. At the start of each of its turns, the strangled opponent may make a str save of DC=10+prof+str of the attacker. They continue to take the suffocation damage at the start of each round the save is failed. The creature must be of size large or smaller. Undead and other creatures that do not breath do not take the suffocation damage but can still be rendered prone until a successful save. Back to Main Page → 5e Homebrew → Equipment → Weapons |
