Deflection. Ranged attacks that target the dodongo snake have disadvantage on the attack roll.

Weak Point. An attack which specifically targets deep within the dodongo snake's mouth bypasses its damage immunity, but the snake still takes nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage as though it resisted it, and full magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Any attack roll made as a called shot, such as against this weak point, is normally made with disadvantage.

ACTIONS

Spit Bullet. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d12 + 2) bludgeoning damage.

This creature appears as a segmented pair of gigantic, smooth, pitch-black stone orbs that slowly squirm across the ground like a serpent. In lieu of a face, one end of its body has a gargantuan white-lipped mouth devoid of teeth that can nonetheless crunch through solid stone. A dodongo snake is so named seemingly because, like the more infamous dodongo, it has a vulnerability to the explosive damage of bombs, but is virtually invulnerable to conventional attacks.

These artificial beings were usually constructed in pairs, and were created primarily to guard palaces, dungeons, or other areas. Often these "snakes" have outlived the structures they still diligently guard.
