Black Flame
3rd-level Necromancy
Casting time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: S
Duration: Instantaneous

Your entire body is wreathed in dark flames, eyes glowing fiendishly, as you raise a hand to strike down a single target. Make a melee spell attack against it, dealing 4d10 necrotic damage on a hit.

If the attack reduces the target to 0 hit points, it explodes in a burst of meaty chunks and dark flames, and dies. The caster may throw the corpse up to 10 feet before it does so, upon which all creatures within 5 feet of the impact zone must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d10 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

At Higher Levels. When this spell is cast using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases 1d10 damage for every level above 3rd.
