Weapon (spear), artifact (requires attunement)
The Gáe Bulg is a powerful, seven-barbed spear that is as old as some of the oldest kingdoms. This spear was forged by a powerful warrior queen, Scáthach, and has made and broken monarchs and rulers for generation upon generation. Its name means "The Spear of Mortal Pain," so it is natural to shudder at the sight of it in enemy hands.
You gain a +2 bonus to all attack and damage rolls made with this magical weapon which deals an additional 2d6 piercing damage. If you hit with the Gáe Bulg, and the target is a living creature, at the end of your turn they must succeed a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or they take 13 (2d12) piercing damage as Gáe Bulg creates a mass of thorns that explode from the inside the target's body making them become vulnerable to piercing damage until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and does not gain vulnerability to piercing damage. If you throw Gáe Bulg, it will return to your hand after rolling damage.
