Zarakal[edit]

Alignment. Chaotic Evil
Domains. Death, Vengeance
Divine Rank. Greater Deity

(Zarakal only appears if Axaris has been killed or angered.)

Zarakal is the cursed other half of the greater goddess Axaris, the guider of souls: Axaris

Zarakal is the dark, punishing goddess of death and vengeance. It is thought that Zarakal appeared after Axaris was cursed, but much about the curse is unknown. When Zarakal appears, her only goal is to hunt down and kill those who have not been loyal and who have betrayed others, no matter how small the betrayal is. If a person has told a small secret of another, she will kill them. She is much more powerful then her counterpart, Axaris. The appearance of Zarakal has only been theorized to have happened once, after the legend of three of the first men who betrayed Axaris (see the link above). Her symbol is a solid black orb of swirling shadows, which she holds in her bound hands.

Zarakal takes the form of a young woman with straight, raven black hair that reaches her waist. Bands of iron wrap around her arms and ankles, binding her limbs together. Her dress is tattered black silk. Her eyes are solid black orbs that glint with malevolence. She resides wherever Axaris has resided. Her worshipers are comprised of those who have been slighted and betrayed, left to ruins. Her clerics also share the same transformation that Axaris does when shifting to Zarakal. They suddenly become darker and blow up into a rage if they see or hear of a betrayal, immediately taking the side of whoever told them of the betrayal; they immediately veer off any path they were on to destroy the betrayer. They tend to be reluctant to heal others, including allies. Their auras turn dark and heavy.
