Physical Description[edit]
Ymbryne by IrenHorrors, [[1]]. |
Ymbrynes are always female, they have tall, lean bodies with birdlike features like sharp, curved eyes, and a predatory posture, and sharp nails. They are able to transform into birds.
History[edit]
Ymbrynes (pronounced imm-brinn) are female humanoids who can take the form of a specific bird. Ymbrynes are commonly travelers, teachers or guardians. They have "nests" of children with odd abilities and keep them within time-anomalous zones, safe from the outside world.
Society[edit]
Ymbrines live apart, but constantly communicate in some way with their kind. Their form of government is usually a council, with the older and wiser Ymbrines as members. They care for their nests on their own but will warn others when danger approaches, as a nest falling is only precursory to others also being invaded. Ymbrynes historically appear ageless due to the anomalous passage of time around them. In truth, they do age, but they just live much longer than humans do.
Ymbrynes Names[edit]
Names for Ymbrynes are usually whimsical and sort of classy. They sometimes hearken to the kind of bird that they transform into.
Female: Alouette, Altaira, Dove, Robin, Phoebe, Raven, Wren.
