Wu Wei Master (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Wu Wei Master[edit]
Cleric, Druid and Wizard subclass
In Lieh, there's a zen concept well spread called wu wei, adopted by most cultures. Wu Wei means following the natural flow of things, meaning, let yourself go and flow with the way, and the action you desire can be executed with more competence and less effort. Although the monk-philosophers were the creators of this concept, mandarins, astrologers and clerics from the most diverse religions have already recognized its truth.
however, the more wise and powerful casters the ones who really managed to apply this concept, learning how to prepare certain types of magic and combine them in a single flux. This flux is then released whenever he wants, unleashing all the magical effects contained inside it at once on the Wu Wei master. Regardless of being a divine caster that combine its spells in a single blessing, or an arcane caster that prepared and released his spells in a single matrix, all that follow this philosophy believe it to be the natural way of the universe.
This subclass is based on the mechanics introduced on the UA 79 - Strixhaven
Obs. Cleric gain features of this class at 1st, 2nd, 6th and 17th levels. The 8th level feature gained by them is Blessed Strikes.
- Magical Knowledge
Level 1+ Wu Wei Master Feature
Wu wei masters are great at understanding and identifying magic. You gain proficiency with the Arcana skill and add twice your proficiency bonus in checks with it.
In addition, you learn the detect magic and identify spells, which you can cast only as rituals.
- Flux
Level 1+ Wu Wei Master Feature
You can partially prepare more two spells and store them in a focus, creating a flux. You can then use the flux to complete both spells simultaneously in a single casting. Both spells must have you as the target, and the combined level of the spells can't surpass your highest level spell slot.
When you prepare a flux, you can't do it again until you finish a short or a long rest.
- Agile Combination
Level 6+ Wu Wei Master Feature
You can now create a flux using a bonus action, rather than an Action, and you can have up to three spells in the same flux.
In addition, you can cast your flux twice, rather than once, between rests.
- Flowing Preparation
Level 10+ Wu Wei Master Feature
You no longer needs to prepare your flux, creating a flux with the same Action used to cast the flux, and you can have up to four spells in the same flux.
- Superior Focus
Level 14+ Wu Wei Master Feature
You can split your mind in two, allowing you to focus in two spells at the same time. You can now concentrate in both Flux spells at the same time. Losing concentration causes you to lose concentration in both spells simultaneously.
