The martial art of Nanto-Ken, other wise known as the South Star Fist, is an ancient and brutal style of combat. It is known for giving its practitioners the power to slice through solid objects with their bare hands. Nanto also has a rival in arms, the way of Hokuto-Ken. The North Star Fist. Hokuto has the power to attacks an opponent's body and destroy it from the inside. Nanto is the opposite and precisely destroys the body from the outside. It is said that whenever one of these two styles falls into chaos, or rises to power, the other will meet it. Both Hokuto and Nanto have many schools and variations, but this is not only one of the most famous, but arguably the most feared. Nanto Ho-Ohken is a branch of Nanto that emphasizes offensive power above all else. It has a philosophy of completely destroying your opponent and leaving them in pieces, quite literally. It is also well known and slightly intimidating given that this style of Nanto does not feature any fighting stance. As was once said by the greatest practitioner of Nanto: "A stance implies defense, and defense implies weakness."
- Pure Slicing Power
When you take this subclass at 3rd level, your unarmed strikes can now deal slashing damage instead of bludgeoning. The power of Nanto Ho-Ohken allows your hands to cleave through practically anything. You can now slice through anything that is as hard or weaker than stone. Additionally, your Martial Arts damage die increases for unarmed strikes. You can roll a d6 in place of the normal damage for your unarmed strike. This die changes to a d8 at 5th level; a d10 at 11th level; and a d12 at 17th level. This increased damage can only be applied to an unarmed strike, and not to a monk weapon.
- Heavenly Flight
At 6th level, you master the art of Nanto Heavenly Flight. This technique allows you to throw yourself around the battlefield with such ease and grace, it appears as if your flying. As a bonus action, you may launch yourself in any direction as far as your walking movement speed, and make a single attack against any creature you pass by, within 5ft of your path. When you do this, you can automatically grab on to a surface at the end of your path if possible. If you begin falling after using this ability, you ignore the falling damage for the first 30ft.
- Flying Phoenix Cross
At 11th level, you acquire one of Nanto's most deadly attacks, the Flying Phoenix Cross. As an action, you can spend 6 ki points to leap 30ft into the air and assume the stance of the Celestial Phoenix. Surging with power, you then fly down in a nigh unstoppable assault upon your opponent. When you do this, choose one creature within 60ft of you and force them to make a Constitution saving throw. If they fail, they take 6d8 slashing damage and are knocked prone until the end of their next turn, due to their muscles being sliced apart. If they succeed, they take half damage and are not knocked prone.
- God Blessed Body
At 17th level, Nanto has transformed your body to counteract its eternal rival, Hokuto. Hokuto attacks the body's nervous and muscular system. To combat this, your pressure points are reversed and imbued with ki to better resist the effects. You now have advantage against saving throws to avoid becoming stunned or paralyzed. Additionally, the DC you must succeed for those effects is halved.
