Keen Smell. The skaven has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Spellcasting. The skaven is a 10th level spellcaster. The spellcasting ability is Intelligence (Spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). The skaven has the following spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, shocking grasp
1st level (4 slots): magic missile, shield
2nd level (3 slots): hold person, scorching ray
3rd level (3 slots): call lightning, dispel magic, thunder step
4th level (3 slots): dimension door, fabricate
5th level (2 slots): maelstrom, wall of force

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The skaven makes two attacks with its Warpclaw or one with its Warpclaw and one with its Warp Rocket.

Warpclaw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage plus 13 (3d8) lightning damage.

Warp Rocket. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (3d8) fire damage plus 13 (3d8) necrotic damage.

Fire Everything! Each skaven within 60 feet of the skaven may use its reaction to make a ranged weapon attack.


The notorious warlock-engineers of Clan Skryre are the artificers of Skaven society, blending arcane magic with technology in an insane and mind-boggling mix. For the other races of the world it is hard to differentiate or define where the science stops and the power of magic begins, although such delineation never occurs to Skaven. Warlock-engineers see the two elements as one and the same, machines and sorcery blended together to create impressive killing power.

Mad Rat Scientists. The warlock-engineers are among the greatest minds in the Skaven Under-Empire. These eccentric tinkerers are master artificers, blending the arcane arts with mad science in the creation of some of the most advanced and deadliest weapons in the world. When not manning machines or watching over their weapon teams, warlock-engineers are also skilled in casting spells in the traditional way of wizards.
