Eidolons[edit]

I am a bit confused by the structure of these pages. Eidolons are a race, but have subclasses they have to take. Is this correct? If so, it kind of goes against 5e. Racial feats are the closest we've got to inclusive features for specific races. As much as I love prestige classes and or even racial prestige classes, I don't think we'll see them since 5e philosophy as of so far, doesn't support it. WotC has certainly made some errors with this design with their feats, but in general their aim is allow any character to go any direction they want or to make all things available to all characters, relatively speaking. (meaning, you can't have spells as a fighter, cause you don't have spellcasting levels) Your help understanding the race and its subclasses would be helpful. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 14:01, 3 December 2018 (MST)

  • Thank you for your input. My aim with the Eidolon is to create the option to play as a character that is more spiritual in nature than physical, which has brought many, many challenges. The idea of having racial subclasses came up while toying with the idea of an eidolon racial class. After balancing the pros and cons, I decided that there was a lot of game concepts to explore by the creation of racial subclasses. And hey, if nothing else, it is certainly a unique mechanic which I would like to conceptualize. --TheStoryEnthusiast (talk) 14:36, 3 December 2018 (MST)
Does the really have to take each of the subclasses though? to quote, Upon becoming a level 3 bard you must take the following college. And other side of the spectrum, no other character can take these classes. Does it need to be restricted so extreme? ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 17:37, 3 December 2018 (MST)
Perhaps I should remove the restriction on the eidolon, instead saying that you may choose a racial subclass. I would not consider, however, opening the subclasses to other races, as each one interacts specifically with the racial features and statistics of the eidolon race. --TheStoryEnthusiast (talk) 18:55, 3 December 2018 (MST)
That is progress towards the right goal. Until WotC changes their philosophy, I would still hope to see every race able to play any subclass they choose. In the event you don't, can you include the {{Design Disclaimer}} on the pages to denote a deviation from standard practice? ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:39, 4 December 2018 (MST)
Absolutely! --TheStoryEnthusiast (talk) 12:32, 4 December 2018 (MST)
I love when we all get along :) <3 ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 12:45, 4 December 2018 (MST)

Expert, Underdog, Mascot, Landsknecht[edit]

I'm just a humble anon asking why you've elected to remove these pages from the site.

Hello! I'm moving from the site, and taking the contributions I have made alone with me. The community has proven abrasive, and even though I may be stubborn, I have found a better alternative that would all in all give me less frustration than this has. I simply can no longer abide to support this website while its community boasts what it does. Besides, they probably don't want someone like me here anyways :) Love, --TheStoryEnthusiast (talk) 12:22, 5 March 2019 (MST)

When you complete your move, could you please post a link to your new location on your user page? Your content is fun and original, and I'd hate to lose access it.

Yeah me too! I just learned you are the one who made the Nomad (5e Class) and I have an inquire about how I can use the class on Foundry VTT! I hope everything is solved by now, it's been almost five years since you posted this. Anyways, I sent you an email explaining everything in a better way. If by any chance you see this, please feel free to talk to me, I like your work a lot! --Joanropo (talk) 00:42, 23 January 2024 (MST)
