At first I thought "why would you use this over sword and board"? 1d6 w/+1AC is pretty blatantly worse than 1d8 w/+2 AC.
Then, I realized it becomes significantly better with Great Weapon Fighting (fighting style) and Great Weapon Master (feat).
Finally, I concluded it is still probably statistically inferior to most weapon options, but it's a neat way to get both an AC bonus and a -5 hit / +10 dmg. I think you could bump it up to 1d8, though.
I think you might also want to mention that the AC only applies if you wield the umbrella proficiently, and that the AC bonus doesn't combine with the bonus from shields (unless you want otherwise, I guess). - Guy 18:02, 20 April 2020 (MDT)

Thanks for your input! I actually decided to go ahead and publish it here since I figured it was pretty close to completion. I am going to add the part about proficiency as I hadn't even thought of that. As for the damage, I'm not good with balance, but if you say it could have a 1d8, I see no problem with setting it there. Thanks! --PJammaz (talk) 20:06, 20 April 2020 (MDT)
